Flash back 15 years ago…Did you see yourself being where you are today?

That’s a great question and I have a great answer. 15 years ago I was at Palmer Chiropractic College, in California, and had an assignment for my philosophy class. The professor asked us to envision where we would like to be in 15 years. I drafted a 10 page paper with every aspect of where I would like to be and how my practice would look. My career did not start out the way I initially envisioned, but once I opened Balance Chiropractic and Wellness, the details of the paper I wrote began to take shape.


I can confidently say, the dreams I had as a young student have come to fruition and I now have the practice of my dreams. I love everyone I work with, work on and have the opportunity to learn from. Be careful what you wish for…because what you think about, you bring about!

Over your 33 years in practice what keeps you passionate about chiropractic?

In chiropractic college we were taught that there is an innate intelligence that directs all healing in the human body. Beyond a doubt, what has kept me passionate has been the experience of seeing this innate intelligence create healing in patients beyond anything I could have imagined. Dr Frank DeGiacomo, a professor of mine, once said that chiropractic is man’s greatest gift to man. After 33 years I would say I believe it now more than ever.

What’s it like working with your husband?

Jeff and I have been together for 20 years. We met first week of college and haven’t separated since. Once we knew that we were pursuing the fields of chiropractic and psychology in college, we purchased the website name “mindandspine.com”, hoping one day we could work together to improve people’s emotional and physical wellbeing. Many years later our dream became a reality and we are able to collaborate to make the world a better place.

When you’re not at the office, what can we most likely find you doing?

Most days you can find me running around after my children. Once in a while you can find me relaxing at the beach or hitting the slopes in Vermont with my family. Since joining the Balance team, I have adopted more wellness lifestyle habits such as yoga, clean eating and using natural approaches to take care of mine and my families health. I am so grateful to be a part of Balance!

What is your favorite healthy thing to do and why?

Display Answer

I say this because regular exercise makes me feel that I accomplished something positive. As a consequence of exercising, I am stronger, get the “natural high” from the endorphins and am confident in the way that I look. I use exercise as “medicine”, an investment in my overall health.

How long have you been working at Balance and how has it changed?

I have been with Dr. Jeff since the beginning…June 13th 2013. It was me, Doc and a laptop! In the 5 1/2 years since, we have surpassed all my expectations. We are now 7 people, many laptops and computers – and functioning as a well oiled machine! I am always so overwhelmed by all of the love and positive feedback we get from our patients.

What about nutrition excites you?

I get most excited when I see how the power of food improves my patients mind and body. I have helped many people lose weight and learn how to eat a high-quality diet. My goal is to educate people on how to make lifestyle changes in order to maintain a healthy weight. I believe food is our medicine. I am grateful to spend my days empowering others to achieve their best in nutrition, and maximize their health and wellbeing from the inside out.

What are your future goals?

I have been working towards becoming a nurse. I love working in the healthcare field. I have met so many amazing people while being at Balance. Although, I am only around part-time, I feel like the office is my home. I am currently also working at a cardiologist office and ultimately look forward to being a nurse in the near future.

What have you learned about health and wellness since working at Balance?

Display Answer

I have learned that wellness starts with the desire from within. I started using a more natural approach to my health and wellness. Many of the supplements we offer have become part of my daily routine. I realized that in order to make real changes in life, it takes commitment and proper guidance. I get all of that and more here at Balance!
